Europe Odyssey 2010 (2)- Paris

For my first installation of my Euro trip, do click this link London.

So we continued our journey to Paris from London. Instead of taking EuroStar which cost a fortune, we opted to fly with Ezyjet via Luton Airport. The flight took about 1.45 hour.

We landed at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport near midnight and was just on time to board the last train to the city. We stayed at the Bervic-Montmarte Hotel, a word of advice, do spend some extra cash and stay somewhere else! As we arrived late in Paris, we would only start exploring the city the next day.
We took a one-day, hop-on-hop-off city tour with Viator. Highly recommended as it's affordable and covers all the attractions and must visit places in Paris. Do check out the link here- Viator Paris Tour
Our first stop of the day was a non-brainer-the Eiffel Tower. No visit to Paris would be complete without a visit to this tower. We arrived there around 9am and the line had already built up.

view from the observation deck

the tower itself as seen from the street...

you can find many sellers selling memorabilia of the Eiffel at the base of the tower...dont be surprised if they know one or two Malay words...maybe many Malaysians had visited the site or maybe Malaysians are the only people who go crazy over those keychains and miniatures??

We hopped on another bus which took us around the beautiful city of Paris. I really felt in love with the feel of spaciousness of the city. Though filled with many historical building same like London and Rome, these buildings were not built to cramp each other. Even the roads here are very wide and provide uninterrupted views of the beautiful buildings of the city.

we visited the famous church of Notre Damme...

Arch De Triumph...

Louvre and many other historical buidings and structures which are scattered all over Paris.
The next day was a play day-in Disneyland Paris. It is located about 40 minutes train ride from central Paris.

We booked the ticket online, single ticket for single entry to the park of your choice. There are 2 separate parks in Disneyland Paris i.e  Disneyland Park & Walt Disney Studio Park. Entrance fee per park would set you back to RM 200+ per person. We chose to visit the Disneyland Park.

The park is divided into 5 separate areas called "land". There are Frontierland, Adventureland, Dicoveryland, Fantasyland and Mainstreet. It is advised to spend your one whole day here to explore all these lands.

We were lucky to be on time for the parade of disney characters from their famous productions.

i really love Disneyland Paris and intend to visit the Walt Disney Park next time in the future.Having said that, i also love Paris, it is true that there's something romantic about the city that made your heart feel at ease, be it the beautiful architecture of the buildings, the nicely dressed local people of this fashion capital and even the warmth (though not all ) of its people though limited by their minimal ability to speak fluent English.

J'adore Paris! -Kay2011
